They also ensure your wishes are communicated clearly and ensure all your business related and personal contacts are informed. By completing these letters, you've taken a meaningful, important step towards solidifying your family legacy.
There are 9 Legacy Letters in total.
Naturally, the first letter. Your family's first thoughts will be towards arranging a funeral. Make it easy for them and take away potential confusion, conflict, and grief.
I've made this the first letter because mostly when someone passes the first thoughts are directed towards organising the funeral. This letter is all about advising what arrangements you would desire and communicating those wishes and instructions, without confusion to all those left behind.
This letter is designed to allow you to document the practical but rarely discussed topics. Where do you want to be buried, or would you rather be cremated? What sort of service and where? All the simple things for you, but questions which may cause dispute, and conflict for those left behind trying to guess what you would have wanted.
Work through the form and complete the relevant sections. They will be self-evident and give as much
information as possible. The whole point of this document is to take away confusion and decision-making from those who are left behind and grieving you.
Remember, you wouldn't want your family arguing over where to bury you or whether they should cremate you instead, would you? Give this your best shot. The more you can fill out, the easier it is for everyone left behind. They can't know what was in your mind if you don't write it down.
